A new chapter Begins: the Korean American Youth Alliance
Hello KAYF supporters and friends! With the new year just around the corner, we are thrilled to share some exciting news — the Korean American Youth Foundation is now the Korean American Youth Alliance!
Over the past 32 years, our work has expanded to leadership development, mentorship, and community-building for Asian American youth all over the United States. Our new name, KAYA, better represents who we are today and where we are headed: a stronger, more inclusive future dedicated to creating a nationwide student community and uplifting the next generation of Asian American community leaders.
To celebrate this exciting transformation, we cordially invite you to KAYA’s 2026 Gala at the Garden City Hotel in February 2026. Please find the event details below:

About the Gala
The Korean American Youth Alliance’s Gala is a fundraiser that directly benefits the students of our high school empowerment program, “We Are Future Leaders” (WAFL), and provides invaluable support for our operations.
Through the generosity of our donors and sponsors, we are able to provide our students with exceptional programming and access to speakers and mentors who can inspire our youth.
ABOUT The WAFL Program
WAFL (pronounced like the breakfast food) is KAYA’s nationwide program to build up the next generation of Asian American community leaders. As of 2025, our network has expanded to over 400 students and alumni and represents 18 states across America.
WAFL aims to nurture our students’ personal growth with programming that includes public speaking workshops, career fairs, group discussions on Asian American identity and social issues, and merit-based scholarships. Click here to learn more about the WAFL Program.
